The Fall, The Serpent and The First Promise

Week 2 — "The Fall, the Serpent & the First Promise" (Genesis 3–4) begins where Week 1 ends and shows what happens when humanity reaches for autonomy over obedience. The serpent's strategy — doubt, denial, reframing — leads to a Fall that takes two devastating verses, followed by shame, hiding, and blame-shifting that mirrors our own patterns. God's response is the study's heartbeat: He comes seeking ("Where are you?"), He covers what humanity could not cover itself, and He embeds the first gospel — the protevangelium of Genesis 3:15 — inside a curse. Genesis 4 extends the consequences outward into the first murder, the escalation of violence in Lamech's song, and the quiet counter-movement of Seth's line, ending with the first community that simply calls on the name of the Lord.
